AHAB'S WIFE

All four sides of my entry in BOOK BENCHES, a Lexington, Kentucky public art project. Selected artists were given a white fiberglass book-shaped bench to paint.Submitted designs had to be based on a book by a Kentucky author. I happened to be reading AHAB'S WIFE when I heard about the event. That excellent and epic book by Louisville author Sena Jeter Naslund about the adventures of the famous whaler's wife was a pleasure to illustrate and to read. I recommend it. The benches were available for sitting and photgraphing all summer, then auctioned off.
